The Society promotes the safe and responsible use of water by all Members and advocates best practice in water management at all times.
Tenants agree to the responsible and reasonable use of water on the Sites.
As a minimum, Members are required to adopt the following practices
– Watering the soil around plants and not leaves
– Watering at times of day when there is least evaporation
– Turning off taps after use
– Minimising water wastage
– Keeping water troughs clean and free of rubbish, chemicals, pests and disease
– Showing courtesy to other Members when using hosepipes
– Using water appropriately to the season and weather conditions
The use of sprinklers (other than hand-held) is not permitted. This includes hosepipes used as sprinklers that is hose pipes propped up or fixed in some way and left to water crops unattended.
